"Punjab government had promised to offer 1.13 lakh jobs in November last year within six months. But till now, the Akali government has failed to deliver on its promise," Punjab Congress Vice President and Chief Spokesperson Sunil Jakhar said told media here.
Jakhar claimed the state government had advertised in newspapers about 1.13 lakh jobs to be offered to the state's youth. "But nothing has been done so far to give employment to our youth by the government," said the Congress MLA.
"The government had announced the jobs to divert attention and save itself from the severe criticism which it was facing in connection with Bargari sacrilege incident and whitefly attack on cotton," the former CLP leader said.
Jakhar further stated the Akali government had also announced to recruit 4,901 ETT teachers, 1,277 Patwaris and 2,664 clerks and data entry operators.
