"PM speaking about pro-labour and pro-poor bills. Why so secretive? Where are they, please bring them to the House," CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury tweeted.
He also targeted the Prime Minister on his Dalit welfare comments, and questioned why the NDA government did not act on the Left party's demand for enacting three laws for SC and STs during Parliament's special sitting to commemorate B R Ambedkar's 125th birth anniversary recently.
During the special sitting of Parliament, CPI(M) had asked the government to clear Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Bill 2015, enact laws offering reservation in private sector jobs and to provide statutory status to SC/ST sub-plan.
Addressing a public meeting in Coimbatore earlier today, the Prime Minister attacked the opposition saying it was stalling key bills in Rajya Sabha "damaging" the country - an apparent reference to GST bill which is stuck in the Upper House.
He added that the Lok Sabha had passed a bill to provide for higher bonus payment to poor labour but the opposition did not allow its passage in the Rajya Sabha.
