General officer Commanding of Jammu-based White Knight CorpsLt Gen Paramjit Singh Tuesday visited forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) and reviewed operational preparedness and security situation, officials said.

The corps commander visited forward posts in Poonch, Krishna Ghati and Sunderbani sectors where he was briefed in detail by commanders on ground on current operational and security situation and the preparedness of the formations in dealing with the same, a defence spokesman said.

He said the GoC also visited Ace of Spades Division, Rajouri and Cross Swords Division, Akhnoor where he was briefed by both the division commanders.

Singh was briefed on the actions being undertaken to ensure a robust counter infiltration grid, the spokesman said.

During his maiden visit after taking over as the GoC of White Knight Corps on October 12 , Lt Gen Singh interacted with the soldiers and complimented both the formations for the untiring efforts in safeguarding the borders.

He reiterated the continued need to remain ever vigilant and respond in a befitting manner to counter the nefarious designs and any misadventures of the anti-national and inimical elements, the spokesman said.
