White knight corps commemorates 1965 war

The White Knight Corps of the army today commemorated the golden jubilee of the 1965 Indo-Pak war and paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives while defending the borders of the country.
"To commemorate the golden jubilee of the 1965 war and pay homage to the martyrs, a para motor expedition was flagged off today by Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps," an army spokesman said.
He said that the Para Motor Team of the elite Para Brigade is undertaking the para motor expedition from Udhampur to Rakhmuthi via Nagrota and Akhnoor.
"All officers, junior commissioned officers, other ranks and the families at the Nagrota garrison attended the flagging -off ceremony in the morning," he said.
He said that the members of the expedition landed at Akhnoor for a dazzling display of their daredevilry. It was received there by Major General Kulpreet Singh, General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division.
"(The expedition was) later flagged off by the station commander at Rakhmuthi Military Station. The team was given a warm welcome by the troops at Akhnoor and the Rakhmuthi Military Station," the spokesman added.
