Wholesale foodgrain market sees a mixed trend

Thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal and sugar prices increased while those of gram dal and wheat decreased at the wholesale foodgrain market here during the week ended today.
Moong dal was sharply up by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 10,300 from its closing rates of Rs 9,800 and again rose next day by Rs 200 per quintal and finished the week at Rs 10,500.
Urad dal opened at Rs 13,000 less by Rs 100 per quintal from its previous rate of Rs 13,100 but its price shot up the next day by Rs 500 per quintal to close the week at Rs 13,500.
Thoor dal opened the week at the same closing rate of Rs 14,200. Its price rose the next day by Rs 300 per quintal and closed at the same rate of Rs.14,500.
Sugar was up by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,900 from Rs 2,800, but its price fell the next day by Rs 10 to finish at Rs 2,890.
Gram dal was down by Rs 100 per quintal on Tuesday from its closing rate of Rs 6,400 and finished the week at Rs 6,300.

Similarly, wheat was marginally down by Rs 50 per quintal from Rs 3,000 and ended the week at Rs 2,950.
Sooji (90 kg) closed the week at its opening rate of Rs 3,000, its price rising by Rs 50 on the opening day and falling by Rs 50 next day.
Price of maida (90 kg) (Rs 2,500) ruled steady throughout the week.
