Normal life was thrown out of gear due to heavy rains as over 24 trees were uprooted due to landslides triggered by incessant rains in Shimla, which recorded 69 mm rain and major portions of the town remained without electricity.
State electricity board engineers said that power would be restored by tomorrow afternoon as transmission wires have been snapped and electric poles damaged.
Chaupal area of Shimla also witnessed cloud burst which triggered landslides and damaged forest and agriculture land.
Report reaching here said that about two dozen students were also stranded in Dhim senior secondary school of Mandi district.

Guler received a maximum of 95 mm rains followed by Nagrota Suriyan 87 mm, Sujanpur Tir and Sundernagar 65 mm.
There was no appreciable change in maximum temperatures and Una recorded a high of 30.2 degree Celsius followed by Bhuntar 29.7 degree, Solan 29 degree, Sundernagar and Kangra 27.3 degree, Nahan 26 degree, Dharamshala 25.8 degree, Shimla 21.7 degree and Kalpa 21.2 degree C.
