Widow, son found murdered

A widow and her 12-year-old son were found murdered at their residence in Mahavidya Colony falling under Govind Nagar police station this evening.
The murders of Geeta Devi (45) and her son, Nikhil, came to light after a relative visited their house this evening, police said.
After preliminary investigations, police zeroed in on three suspected motives of the murders. "It could be the outcome of an illicit relationship, or an attempt to take possession of property, or to eliminate the proof as she was a witness in a case," said SSP Gulab Singh, who reached the spot along with deputy SP Anil Yadav.

"Finger prints have been collected from the spot and the dog squad has been pressed into service," Singh said, adding that further probes are on.
