Wild dogs death in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve prompts probe

The forest department has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of four wild dogs in a village falling under Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, near here, forest officials said today.
On receiving information that four wild dogs were found lying dead in a village near Bhoothanatham in Mayar village this morning, the forest officials reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations, they said.
A detailed investigation and postmortem will be carried out, they added.
Indian wild dogs are protected under schedule I category of the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
