Will announce decision on alliance in March second week: TMC
Press Trust of India Madurai TMC leader G K Vasan today said the party still had time to work out an alliance for contesting the coming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and it would announce its decision by the second week of this month.
"Various leading parties are expected toannounce their final decision regarding polls in a week or two. There is still time for TMC also. We will announce our decision by the second week of March," he told reporters at the airport here.
On the vexed fishermen's issue, he said the Centre should find proper solution to it.
He said he expected a fair decision on the release of the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
The Tamil Nadu government had decided to release all the seven convicts, saying it took the decision on petitions from them, requesting their release as they had spent more than 20 years in prison.
