"I am contesting in the 2013 elections. As of now I will not disclose from which constituency I am going to contest," Sangma told reporters after he was produced in the CJM court.

"My election as a member of the assembly will facilitate peace talks with my militant outfit," Sangma, a former deputy superintendent of police, who was produced in court after the 14 days judicial remand ended, said.

He claimed that his 'boys' were ready for talks, while there was no word from the government on it.

He was directed by the court to appear on September 25 in view of the shortage of staff as a result of the Bharat bandh call.

The militant chief was arrested on July 30 from the Indo-Bangladesh border hours after he was pushed back by the Bangladesh authorities.

The GNLA chief has been booked in nine cases
