Will convey proposals to PM Modi: BJP assures local industry

Senior BJP leaders, including a union minister, have promised to take up various proposals suggested by captains of industries here, with concerned ministers and recommend initiating action for implementation.
During an interaction with Union Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan and BJP General Secretary Muralidhar Rao here last night, representatives of industries sought support of initiating better air connectivity to international destinations, airport expansion, Mass Rapid Transport System, among other things.
Radhakrishnan offered his full support to the industry in terms of facilitating or initiating several development projects under his ministries' ambit, a release from Local chapter of CII, said today.
Other suggestions include developing and completing various arterial highways cutting across Coimbatore, opening up of defence procurement from MSMEs, initiating favourable Free Trade Agreements with EU and other developed countries for the textile industry.
In their concluding remarks, Radhakrishnan and Rao assured their support to the industries in taking forward the proposal and also positively submitting it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit here on 2nd February, it said.
Those who attended the meeting include Ravi Sam, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu and K V Srinivasan, Chairman, CII Coimbatore.
