Inaugurating development-centric projects here, he said special attention will be paid for the development of Amritsar and transform the holy city into a tourist hub.
He claimed the SAD-BJP government had accomplished various development-related work in the city, which included a Rs 8-crore city entrance gate, Entrance Plaza near Sri Darbar Sahib at Rs 200 crore, Fort Gobindgarh renovated with Rs 95 crore, and constructed heritage village at Rs 15 crore.
He also inaugurated other projects including mechanical sweeping machines, new building of MC office and solid-waste management project at a cost of Rs 460 crore thus initiating projects to the tune of around Rs 600 crore.
BJP MP Shwait Malik today wrote a letter to Punjab chief secretary for not inviting him for inauguration programmes in Amritsar.
