Kiran made her directorial debut in 2011 with 'Dhobi Ghat' and is quite excited about her next project.
"I have started writing, it is a long process... Let's see how it shapes up," Kiran said at an event last night.
At a time when filmmakers are looking to make women centric films, thanks to the success of 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Kahaani', Kiran wants strong women roles in her films than making a movie on them.
Since the film is still being written, Kiran says she can't say in which genre will it fit.

Kiran was present at the felicitation function of women national award winners by WIFT (Women in Film and Television Association India). She is proud of all the women achievers but feels importance should be given to regional cinema.
Also, since Mother's Day is around the corner (May 12), Kiran, wife of actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, is quite thrilled to be a mother herself.
"I am thrilled to be a mother and I am sure everyone who is a mother feels the same way. So I wish success in this very exciting and complex journey of mothers," she said.
