West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi today said he will know the situation at Jadavpur University, where students have been boycotting classes demanding Vice-chancellor's resignation, after talking to them.
"I called the representatives of students at 5 PM. I will talk to them and tell you. I will know what is the situation," Tripathi, who is also the chancellor of the university, told reporters here.
Asked how he viewed the situation at JU, Tripathi said "You know it better. What is going on and what is not going on there - who is the person who is responsible for this and who are the persons who are responsible for all these episodes."
The agitating students have held the VC responsible for the police action against them in the campus in the wee hours of September 17 when they had gheraoed VC Abhijit Chakrabarti, registrar and other officials demanding a fresh probe panel on alleged sexual harassment of a girl student inside the campus last month.
