The SAD also castigated the Speaker for allegedly running the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session in a "partisan manner".
Former finance minister and senior SAD leader Parminder Singh Dhindsa said, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had given an assurance he would implement the loan-waiver but "it seems he is not sure about it".
"Instead of giving an unequivocal statement on the issue in the Assembly today, he (Amarinder) started talking about lack of funds and even that he could not be pressured into doing anything," Dhindsa said.
"We want the government to implement a complete loan waiver of all institutional loans of nationalized and cooperative banks and cooperative institutions and also non- institutional loans of commission agents. Anything less than this will be unacceptable," he added.
He said despite repeated requests and written submissions, the Speaker did not allow the SAD to move an adjournment motion on the issue of loan waiver.
