Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said the ambitious water grid project envisaged by his government will eradicate water scarcity and nearly 10,000 villages in the state will get potable drinking water.
"The Water Grid Project will become a role model for other states as well. On government's part, there will be no shortage of funds and technology for the project," Rao said in Siddipet.
The TRS chief said if his government fails to implement the project, he will not ask for votes in the next Assembly election.
The project envisages providing 100 litres of water to each household in villages and 150 litres to every house in cities or towns and is expected to cover 25,000 villages and 67 towns.
The chief minister also said that Siddipet will soon become a separate district and will also get a railway line.
"Water will be supplied to Siddipet and Dubbak constituencies from the proposed 30 TMC water reservoir near Siddipet," he added.
