He said that he would review all decisions taken by the SAD-BJP state government in the last three months.
Accusing both Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Sukhbir Singh Badal of circumventing established rules and norms to push their electoral agenda, Amarinder said, "The game plan of the Akalis had been thoroughly exposed and only a total rout in the polls could really teach them a lesson.
"I will review every act of the Badals and throw them into jail if found guilty of any criminal act or misdemeanor if Congress formed the next government," he said in a statement.
The senior Congress leader also hit out at the special session convened by the state Cabinet today.

The Governor has refused to give his assent to the ordinances and bills proposed by the Akali government in the state, thus it is clear that there is sheer desperation behind the summoning of the special session of the Assembly today, he said.
Amarinder reiterated his request to the Election Commission for "immediate imposition of the Code of Conduct in the state to prevent further deterioration of political environment in the run-up to the Assembly elections."
Punjab goes to polls next year.
