Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today said that the state government will encourage use of modern technology to improve road designing and bring down maintenance cost.
Inaugurating the construction of four-lane NH-415 from Chandranagar to Papu Nallah here under Package-A of the project, Mein said the state government is planning to adopt global best practices in road building.
He said the cost of using latest technology would be requested from the Centre as the idea behind bringing in modern technology for road construction would be mainly to decrease maintenance cost so that there would be no recurring expenses later.
While congratulating the people of state capital for the significant accomplishment, the deputy chief minister asked the executing agency to expedite the work and complete it before the target of three years.
He further said that the proposal for the Package B would be sent to the Centre soon.
He appealed to the people to cooperate and comply with the traffic diversions and use the alternative route during construction of NH 415 to enable smooth progress of the work.
Considering the traffic congestion during the four laning, it will be of great help to use the diversion road that will ease and improve traffic movement, he added.
