Will weed out red sandalwood smuggling: AP Minister

Andhra Pradesh government has undertaken all possible measures in dealing with the issue of red sandalwood smuggling and will weed it out with an "iron hand", Deputy Chief Minister N Chinnarajjapa said here today.
"The state government will tackle the issue of red sandalwood smuggling with an iron hand and has already taken measures to deal with this menace," Chinnarajappa, who also holds charge of Home portfolio, said while addressing a function marking the 65th 'Van Mahotsav' at Korangi wild life sanctuary in East Godavari district.
The minister said that the sanctuary will be developed into a tourist spot for its rich flora and fauna.
Chinarajappa further said that the state government has set up an ambitious target of planting one crore saplings in each and every district of the state.
