The championship will be conducted by the Goa Yachting Association (GYA), in association with the Board Sailing Association of India and Cidade de Goa.
The Goa State Windsurfing Championship will also be held simultaneously.
Boardsailing Association of India president Anil Madgavkar told reporters here today that this championship is especially important because rankings obtained by windsurfers during this event would determine selections for the Asian Sailing Championships to be held at Incheon, South Korea in September.
GYA president Ashwin Tombat said that around 20 youngsters from Goa would compete at the Youth, Junior and Sub-Junior levels, both in the Goa State Championship and the Nationals.

Colonel (Retd) Milind Prabhu, who is overseeing the Topper India Grand Prix Goa Series, said that this was the very first time that the Topper dinghy, the fastest growing class of sailing boat in the world, would be seen in India.
