Windy condition plummets mercury in Himachal
Press Trust of India Shimla Windy conditions in parts of Himachal Pradesh led to mercury plummeting to 4.4 deg C and 6.2 deg C at Keylong and Kalpa in the twin tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur even as weather remained dry in the region.
The minimum temperature dropped by 3 to 5 degrees in the state with Manali recording a low of 8 deg C, 4 degrees below normal while Solan and Bhuntar recorded minimum temperatures at 11.5 deg C and 12 deg C, 5 degrees below normal.
Palampur recorded a minimum temperature of 14 deg C followed by Sundernagar and Dalhousie 14.1 deg C, Shimla 14.3 deg C, Nahan 15.7 deg C and Una 17.5 deg C.
Maximum temperatures remained normal with Una being the hottest in the region with a high of 34.2 deg C followed by Bhuntar 32.2 deg C, Solan 29 deg C, Dharamsala 28.6 deg C, Nahan 28.3 deg C and 24 deg C in both Shimla and Manali.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region over the next two days.
