Senior BJP leader V K Malhotra said the Opposition will try to corner the government on a range of issues like "delay" in regularisation of unauthorised colonies, price rise and "inflated" power and water bills.
"We will forcefully oppose government's decision to allow FDI in multibrand retail as it will adversely affect small traders," Malhotra, leader of the opposition, said.
The senior BJP leader said BJP will also vociferously raise the issue of "corruption" and deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
The session, which runs till December 14, will have a total of four sittings.
Asked about BJP's plan to corner the government, a Minister said the government was ready for discussion on any issue. The Speaker has already accepted BJP's notice for a discussion on FDI in multibrand retail.
The Delhi cabinet met today to finalise the government's strategy to counter the opposition. "We know how to deal with them. We are ready for a discussion on any issue," said the Minister.
Accusing BJP of trying to mislead people on the FDI issue, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's Parliamentary Secretary Mukesh Sharma said "the party does not have anything concrete to oppose the Centre's decision to allow FDI in retail.
