The mercury dipped to 0.7 degrees Celsius and 3.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts, while high-altitude tribal areas reeled under biting cold with mercury settling three to five notches below the freezing point.
Key tourist destinations of Manali, Bhuntar, and Shimla recorded a low of 10.0 degrees Celsius, 11.3 degrees Celsius and 12.0 degrees Celsius respectively, two to four notches below normal, while Palampur recorded minimum temperatures at 13.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Dharamshala 15.4 degrees Celsius, Nahan 17.5 degrees Celsius and Una 18.7 degrees Celsius.
The MeT has predicted dry weather in the region for the next six days.
