Charging the UPA government with being "timid and cowering", BJP today claimed "Pakistan will be forced to close down terrorist camps" operating from its soil once the party came to power with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.
"Once Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister, Pakistan will be forced to close down terrorist camps operating from its soil. The nation remembers that when the BJP was in power, a befitting reply was given to enemies of the country during the Kargil incursion," BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told a farmers' rally at Sahson, about 40 kms from here.
"At present, we have a government which always appears timid and cowering. No wonder even small powers like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Myanmar dare to cock a snook at India," he said, adding "the country needs a leadership that is bold and decisive."
"Scams after scams have been the only achievement of the Congress in its nine-year rule, Naqvi said.
Taking potshots at the Samajwadi Party and the BSP, Naqvi said "both these parties are cronies of the Congress".
They have, through their continued support to the UPA, ensured that people are hoodwinked with promises like the Right to Information and Food Security Acts while parties keep enjoying the right to indulge in corruption, he alleged.
