Two of her accomplices have also been arrested, police said.
On the night of April 16, the woman, a student of class XII, offered her mother a glass of milk, laced with sedatives, a senior police officer said.
"Since her mother has the habit of waking up even at the slightest noise, the woman mixed sleeping pills in the glass of milk. Her father and brother were sleeping on another floor of the house," the officer said.
A case was registered the next day. There was no sign of forced entry. Neither was the almirah found broken nor was the house ransacked. Due to these clues, police suspected it to be the handiwork of a family member.
