Woman, 2 sons attempt suicide

A woman in the Kishannagar area here allegedly tried to commit suicide today along with her two sons by consuming poison, police said.
According to police, the trio, identified as Karamjit Kaur and her sons Vishal and Gurpreet, both in their 30s, were rushed to the hospital where their condition is stated to be stable after the alleged suicide attempt.
Police said that Gurpreet was arrested in two drug and violence-related cases and was out on bail when the sarpanch of his village lodged a complaint of misbehaviour against him.
But the kin of the trio alleged that the sarpanch, Dilbagh Singh, and another panchayat member were harassing them.

Investigation in the case is underway, police said.
