Woman, 4 minor daughters found dead in water tank

Police today recovered the bodies of a woman and her three minor daughters who allegedly killed themselves in a possible suicide pact at Dhani Prem Nagar village, about 20 from here.
The bodies of Tina and her daughters -- Manisha (11), Neeshu (9), Bharti (6) and Rawisha (4) -- were recovered from a water tank in the village.
Tina, along with her daughters, had been missing since Monday when they left their home allegedly after being tortured by her in-laws, police said.
Sohan Lal of Bhuna village, in a police complaint, said her daughter Tina got married to Joginder Singh about 12 years ago. He alleged that her in-laws had tortured and harassed her for long, and asked her to leave the house on March 10.

Today, a passerby saw the sleepers and a shawl near the water tank and informed police.
Policemen reached the site immediately and called fire and rescue services personnel. The bodies had been sent for post-mortem and investigations into the matter were on, a police officer said.
