Brajeswari Burman, who was suffering from diarrhoea, was taken to Tomo Riba State Hospital (TRSH) at Naharlagun on July 25 by her son and daughter-in-law.
They left the hospital allegedly when the doctor asked them to bring some medicines, and did not return, a release by Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) said today.
After members of APSLSA, Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti, a social organisation, and Woman Helpline searched for her kin for six days, and used social media for the purpose, they got the whereabouts of a her son and daughter-in-law from a person, it said.
APSLSA and the police took an undertaking from her sons and daughters-in-law that they would take care of the woman. Besides, the APSLSA will give Rs 2,000 per month to her, the release said.
However, disheartened by the ill-treatment meted out by her sons and daughters-in-law, the woman has reportedly decided to leave for her hometown of Coochbehar in West Bengal.
