The incident was reported from north Delhi's Kashmere Gate yesterday.
The woman alleged that on August 18, when she tried to leave for her mother's home, her partner thrashed her, burnt her clothes and even chopped off her hair, a senior police officer said.
The officer added that the woman was then kept locked in her house for over a month and after she managed to escape, she approached the police.
She has a son from Sanjeev. She alleged that Sanjeev was not agreeing on marrying her so she decided to leave his house, they said.
However, he thrashed her and locked her in the house. After almost a month, she managed to escape and filed a police complaint.
Police have registered a case and are probing the matter. Her partner is absconding.
