Woman advocate to be honoured with 'Rashtra Mata Jijau' award

A prominent woman advocate from Thane, Sandhya Jadhav, who has been active in social work has been selected for the 'Rashtra Mata Jijau Samajik Puraskar'.
The award will be presented to Jadhav in the 21st Akhil Bharatiya Navodit Marathi Sahitya Sammelan between July 25-27 at Latur, organisers said today.
The Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Parishad has in a communication informed Jadhav that she has been selected for this award based on the work done by her in the field of legal and social services.
The Sammelan every year recognises selected persons from various fields across Maharashtra for their work in different field including, Literature, Arts, Theatre, Agriculture, Social work, Industry, and politics, the organisers said.
Jadhav, who has been practicing in Thane district court besides the High Court started her career in law in 2006 and had the opportunity to work in the chamber of V G Patil, a prominent criminal lawyer from the district.
She received special recognition from the Sanskriti Yuva Pratishtan a couple of years back.
Jadhav is proud is that she has represented litigants through the Legal Aid cell of Thane District Legal Aids Services Authority and has assisted in more than 500 cases as charity.
"I am happy to get this award," she told PTI adding she would continue serving the needy and ensure that maximum people get legal aid from her.
