Rajbir, a resident of Gautambuddh Nagar, filed a complaint with police alleging that his daughter was killed by her in-laws and husband for dowry on Thursday.
According to the complainant, the deceased married Naresh, resident of Nangla Enclave Part II, in 2010 following which she was frequently harassed and tortured by her in-laws and husband for dowry, they added.
She was then forced to go back to her parent's house. However, on July 14 her mother-in-law, Bimla Devi, and her brother-in-law, Deepak, asked her to come back, assuring that there would be no problems in future.
A case was registered with Saran police station yesterday under section-304B (dowry death) and 34 of IPC.
