Woman allegedly hacks police SI to death

A 31-year-old sub inspector was allegedly hacked to death here by a woman, police said today.
"We have arrested the accused Vanitha," Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore District, A Radhika told PTI adding further probe was still on. She declined to elaborate on more suspects in the case.
The sub-inspector Ganesan, who working at the Annamalai Nagar Police Station, was found in a pool of blood at his residence here late last night by his relative.
At the time of the murder, the sub-inspector was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Police said the official was married only a fortnight ago and was reportedly in a relationship with Vanitha. His wife had gone to her mother's house at the time of the murder.
While confessing to having murdered Ganesan, Vanitha told investigators that she chose the extreme step as the police officer had "betrayed her" and married another woman, police said.
After committing the murder, she fled to Virudhachalam town and was arrested when she boarded a bus.
