Woman alleges sexually assault on pretext of marriage

A woman has alleged that she was sexually assaulted for more than a year by a person on the pretext of marriage in Julana of the district, police said today.
According to complaint filed by the woman, she started living with Pappu, a resident of Julana village, in May, 2012 after the promise of marriage. But later, he went back on his promise, she alleged.
He, along with his relatives, held her captive and sexually assaulted her for over a year. She alleged that she was threatened and beaten up by Pappu and his relatives whenever she protested against them.

Eight persons, including two women, have been booked in connection with the case and a probe is on, police said.
