Woman arrested in connection with her husband's murder

A woman, who allegedly plotted to kill her husband has been arrested along with her two accomplices, police said today.
According to police, Poonam (25), her lover Rajeev (22) and his juvenile friend killed her husband Sanjay on Wednesday night.
Poonam allegedly told police that she took the extreme step after getting fed up of violent and rude behaviour of Sanjay.
On Thursday, Poonam registered a missing complaint at Mundka police station that her husband was missing since Wednesday.
"However, during investigation, police found many contradictions in her statement. The victim's father revealed that Poonam had an affair with Rajeev, a bouncer by profession, and suspected him of kidnapping Sanjay. On father's statement, a case of kidnapping was registered", said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan.

Acting on this information, police arrested Rajeev and the juvenile near Santoshi Mata Mandir, Tikri Village, after specific information on Thursday evening, said Renganathan.

During interrogation, the duo said they had murdered Sanjay and at their instance the body was recovered from Nizampur Tikri Road railway crossing in fields, police said.
The duo allegedly told police that on Wednesday night, Rajeev's juvenile friend called out Sanjay from home on the pretext of drinking when Rajeev went to meet Poonam in the house.
However, Sanjay soon came back home and found Rajeev with his wife. Subsequently, a heated argument broke out and Rajeev and his friend murdered Sanjay by slitting his throat with a knife, said police.
