Woman arrested, rare species of snake recovered

A woman was arrested after a rare species of snake was recovered from her possession in Rupadhia area along the Indo-Nepal border, a forest department official said here today.
The woman was arrested by the joint team of SSB and forest department yesterday and two sand boa snakes were recovered from her possession, range officer Ahmad Kamal Siddiqui said.
He said the rare species of snake was worth several lakhs in the international market.
The snake is in high demand in China.
