Superintendent of Police Shyali Dhurat said the woman athlete Ashwani Raj was returning home here from Gaya after attending a training programme when 3-4 youths, who also alighted from the same train, accosted her and later started beating.
Sources said the woman resisted harassment by them, following which they assaulted her.
The SP who had gone to meet the athlete in the hospital said she was complaining of serious pain in stomach.
She said the doctors have been directed to monitor her condition and take her to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) if required.
