Woman attempts suicide outside district collector office

Upset over administration disregarding her complaint about encroachment infront of her house, a woman today attempted suicide by pouring kerosene oil on her body outside the district collector office here, police said.
Indu Devi Agrawal had complained several times to the district administration and police about the encroachment outside her house at Shitla gate but none of the department paid any attention to the matter.
"The collector assured her that an action would be taken, but she was not satisfied and went outside where she poured kerosene on herself. However, people present at the scene caught hold of her before she could light a matchstick," police said.

But, she had to be taken to a hospital as she consumed some of the kerosene, police said.
