Woman, boy fall prey to racing buses

A 45-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy were run over and killed at Banghaghat in Howrah district as two private buses on the same route were racing for passengers, police said.
The accident occurred when the woman and the boy, who was her neighbour, were going home after bathing in the Ganga.
While the boy died on the spot, the woman succumbed to her injuries in a hospital, police said.
Local people ransacked the buses and put up a road blockade for a while in protest against the accident.
