Woman burnt to death

A 36-year-old woman was today
allegedly burnt to death by her husband at a village near here, police said.
The deceased was identified as Mini, a resident of Batala.
Her completely burnt body was recovered from her house in the village Sheikhupur near the town here this afternoon when police reached the spot after being informed by the neighbours who saw flames coming out of the house, they said.
The couple was staying in a rented one room accomodation.
DSP city Balwinder Iqbal Singh said a case of murder has been registered against her husband identified as Nishan Singh, who was absconding after the incident.

He said, victim's father Banarsi Dass had alleged in his complaint that his daughter was subjected to torture by her husband and accused him of her daughter's murder.
Police said a man hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
