The deceased has been identified as Rekha, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr city. She was undergoing treatment after she attempted suicide by consuming poisonous substance after killing her stepson and step-daughter, they said, adding no suicide note has been found.
She was found unconscious on Wednesday last at her house and the body of her 11-year-old step-son was lying near her while the body of her 14-year-old step-daughter was found in the kitchen, police said, adding a purported suicide note was also found in which she said she had not killed the children.
Rekha's husband is a senior officer in CDO office in Bulandshahr. She was his second wife and they were married in 2005. She had two children out of this wedlock.
Police handed over the body to her family members after post mortem, the official said.
