Woman crushed under wheels of bus

A woman was crushed under the wheels of a bus which was racing with another bus of the same route near Ultadanga railway station, police said.
The accident occurred at around 9.15 AM when Dipika Poddar (35) was trying to board a bus of route no 217.
The driver of the bus, on seeing another bus (route no 201) of the same route coming behind, surged the vehicle forward and the woman, who had partly boarded the bus, fell down and was crushed under its rear wheels, police said.
The woman was declared "brought dead" when taken to the RG Kar Hospital. The driver of the bus has been arrested.
