Woman, daughter succumb to burn wounds, family alleges dowry

A 22-year-old woman and her toddler daughter succumbed to burn injuries in Mahuli area here though her family alleged her husband and in-laws killed them after they could not meet their dowry demands.
Sadhana and her two-year-old daughter were rushed to a hospital after they received burn wounds yesterday. They died while undergoing treatment, police said, adding it is not yet known how they sustained burn injuries.
A probe has been initiated in the matter, but no arrest has been made so far, they said.
