After being tipped off that her child is alive, a woman has levelled charge of selling the baby for Rs 1.10 lakh against a nursing home alleging the healthcare utility lied about delivering a still born child on January 4 in Hazaribagh town.
Superintendent of Police Hazaribagh Akhilesh Kumar Jha confirmed having received the complaint and said he has asked the officer-in-charge of concerned Lohshinghna police station to look into the woman's allegations against the owner of the nursing home owner Upendra Kumar Kushwaha.
Kushwaha has denied the allegation, the officer said.
The FIR lodged by the woman, Sunita Devi, further said that Kushwaha told her she gave birth to a still born child and the body was disposed off without showing it to her or other attendants and she was suddenly discharged.
The woman said she did not suspect any foul play till an employee of the nursing home tipped her off yesterday that her baby is alive and was sold to one of her relatives living at Ichak in the district.
