Woman found dead at in-laws' house

A 24-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws' house here, police said today.
A senior Delhi Police officer said the woman, who died yesterday morning, has been identified as Pooja Singh. She got married to east Delhi-resident Bhoop Singh on May 2, 2013.
She was living with her husband and in-laws at Saboli village in Harsh Vihar here, the officer said.
The woman's relatives have accused her in-laws of killing her for dowry. Her husband and in-laws, however, claimed that she committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.
The officer said Pooja's death came to light after her husband called his brother-in-law and informed him about it.

"The woman's brother had immediately called the police control room and informed about the incident. He has alleged that there were injury marks on Pooja's body that suggested that she was beaten up before being hanged," the officer said, adding that a probe is on.
