Woman found dead with slit throat in South Mumbai

A 28-year-old woman was killed after unidentified assailants allegedly slit her throat with a sharp weapon at Colaba in South Mumbai, police said today.
The incident occurred yesterday at Sunder Nagari locality in Colaba, they said.
The victim, a homemaker identified as Shweta Mahendra Tandel, was attacked when she was alone at her house, they said.
She was living with her husband, brother-in-law and one of his friends there since last few months, an official said.
The killing came to light when family members came to the residence in the afternoon and saw Shweta lying in a pool of blood following which they immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced brought dead.
On a complaint by the woman's father Dhananjay Tandel, an offence of murder has been registered against unidentified persons, he said.
We are questioning the members who were staying in the home including her husband, said Manojkumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Zone-I).
