The victim was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan by her husband Harish when he returned from work, they said, adding that no suicide note was recovered from the spot.
Neighbours told police that the couple had an altercation over some issue after which her husband, who works as a security guard, had left for duty last night.
Woman's post-mortem report is awaited after which it would be known whether she committed suicide or was killed, police said.
