Woman gets labour pain mid-air, flight makes emergency landing

A 36-year-old Filipino woman developed labour pain mid-air and the plane she was in made an emergency landing here today, airport authorities said.
Rayninn, a Filipino national, was travelling in a Qatar Airways flight from Qatar to Phuket in Thailand. While the plane was in airspace around Chennai, the woman developed severe labour pain and began to bleed.
Alerted by the crew, the pilot sounded off the air traffic authorities here and made a swift emergency landing by 2.30 PM.
A medical team rushed the woman to a private hospital in an ambulance after providing preliminary medical attention.
The flight is likely to take-off soon, the authorities said.
