Woman gram panchayat member killed in mishap

: A woman Gram Panchayat member of Bajpe was killed when the scooter on which she was riding pillion was hit from behind by a private bus near the town hall in the city today, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Prema, 55, belonging to Vamanjoor. She was thrown out of the scooter and the bus ran over her, the sources said.
Her husband who was riding the scooter also fell down, but escaped with minor injuries.
