Woman gram pradhan shot at in UP; seven booked

A woman gram pradhan was shot at and critically injured by two motorcycle-borne assailants in Dhohlda village while she was on her way to home, police said today.
The incident took place last evening at Chandera Kala was returning home, Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadershi said.
Political enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the incident, he said.
Seven persons --Shiv Kumar, Baburam, Pankaj, Nitin, Chaman, Pradeep, Mithan-- have been booked in this connection, Circle Officer SP Shatma said, adding the efforts are on to nab them.
