Woman held under passport act

A woman passenger, who returned from Malaysia, has been arrested on charges of visiting the country on a bogus passport, police today said.
Police said they checked the immigration documents of the passenger Noorul Arisia Begum (50) from Sakkaraikottai in Ramanathapuram district, after she gave contradictory details about her documents.
The woman, who arrived by an AirAsia flight midnight last night, had obtained the passport in the name of Mumtaj Begum, by giving her father's name as Abdul Kadher of Tiruchirappalli.
She was handed over to airport police who arrested her under the passport act and remanded in judicial custody.
